Answer : Evert Schokker VOlendam, the name of our grand father who founded the company in 1922.
Volendam is the name of the village we live.

What are your delivery times ?
Answer: we try to deliver all our products directly from stock. Essentially it is possible
to send within two days.
Life time of an ESVO tent, tell me
Answer : this is depending on the materials and the usage of the tent. In principle the
expectation of life of an ESVO-tent is approximately 20 years, based on a practice of 2/3 weeks yearly.
How do I remove several stains from my cotton cloth ?
Answer : we advise you to take out the patches/specks with a brush and afterwards to clean with water. Never use detergents, these fluids do harm the cloth irremediable.
Cleaning All-Season coated fabric. What to do ?
Answer : by thinning chlorine (w.c.-chlorine) with water. In a proportion 1 to 10 :
you dilute 1 part chlorine to 10 parts of water.
How long can I carry my cotton tent in a wet condition ?
Answer : maximum 24 hours and then drying very thoroughly. We do advise
to give vent to the tent within 12 hours. Otherwise the cloth could decay/stifle :
it does not get enough air.
I am looking for a tent to put up beside my caravan. What is the best
material for this application ?
Answer : especially for this usage we produce tents in the so-called ‘All-Season’
coated fabric of Ten Cate, the leading European manufacturer in tent cloths.
All Season Touring canvas is a high-quality 100% polyester coated canvas. This material is light, but strong and durable. The microporous acrylic coating makes the fabric waterproof, weather-resistant and durable. The canvas is also easy to clean. Moreover, the cloth meets strict environmental requirements. TenCate All Season Touring canvas is used primarily in front extensions, tunnel tents and awnings.
When do I have to impregnate my lightweight cotton tent again ?
Answer : after approx. 20-25 weeks of using the tent some parts in the light weight cover can emerge whereby the cloth is less waterproof. This can be solved by using
an impregnation spray or lubricant. You can these means everywhere. Also ESVO does
have such remedies, for all kinds of cotton.
My cotton tent is beginning to filter through some rain. How to solve ?
Anser : for the heavy-weight cotton we advise to use a special lubricant.
Specialised retailers or ESVO have these means. After applying you can use your
tent again, carefree.
How can I remove ‘moulding’ out of my tent ?
Answer : this is a very hard job to do. In fact it is not possible. When you have
small stains, contact ESVO and we can advise you.
