Outstanding Features of this Extra Strong Transparent Tarpaulin - Plastic Film 0.50mm
This transparent film is flame-retardant, meaning fire-retardant.
This transparent tarpaulin with a thickness of 0.50 mm stands out not only in terms of strength and durability but also for its truly GLASS-clear properties.
NOTE: Due to the thickness and robustness, you can only process this 0.50 plastic film with an industrial sewing machine. If you still wish to process a thicker film yourself on a household sewing machine (with a strong motor), take the 0.40 film and use silicone spray to ease the needle. The 0.30 film (also available in our webshop) can be processed on any household machine at any time. SEE OUR CONFECTION VIDEOS BELOW.
We also offer this transparent film in an extra width of 180 cm.
FIRST PROCESSING of the Film and AVOIDING SHRINKAGE
(P.S. Don't forget our double-sided tape so you can position the film exactly in place after "acclimatizing" and sew it. See detailed information below.)
24 Hours Laying Flat
Transparent window film can still stretch or shrink slightly. If there is a large amount of film to be tensioned, shrinkage can be an issue with fluctuating temperatures. If the tarpaulin remains tensioned throughout the year, it will retain its length, and you will notice minimal shrinkage.
Upon receipt: When you receive our window film, the material has just come off the roll. Allow it to "acclimatize" for 24 hours to allow the film to adjust to any shrinkage or temperature changes. Also, don’t forget our double-sided tape for precise placement of the film on the fabric/tarp. See confection videos below.
After some time: If the material has been rolled up for a long period, the film may shrink slightly due to temperature fluctuations and will need to be stretched again. This should not be done by forcing the material back into its original tension. Solution: Keep the material taut to prevent it from shrinking. Do not leave it rolled up all summer. If this is not possible and winter storage is involved, follow these steps: Ensure the tarpaulin or fabric is hung out in a warm room for 24 hours to make the film flexible. Then slowly stretch the material, allowing it to expand.
Another practical solution: Use a heater in a closed room to make the transparent film flexible, and then slowly tension the film.
