Front awning keder / Caravan rail piping keder 8.5 mm with double flap, white
Product combinations
8.5 mm Caravan Keder with Double Flap. Extra-Strong Awning Beading. Sold per 10 cm.
Our high-quality 8.5 mm PVC keder with double flap is suitable for caravans, awnings, tent awnings, boats, motorhomes, terraces, and many other applications.
The keder tape can either be sewn onto fabric or high-frequency welded onto a suitable surface. Made from exceptionally strong PVC-coated fabric, our keder provides a fully watertight and secure connection. We offer keder with either one or two layers, also referred to as single-flap or double-flap keder. With the double-flap version, the fabric is placed between the two flaps. With the single-flap version, the fabric can be sewn directly onto the flap or stitched underneath an existing keder. Once attached, the keder can easily be slid into the awning rail mounted on the caravan, motorhome, or other structure. Our awning keder is available from as little as 10 cm in length.
Please note: We also offer an extensive range of awning rails and caravan rails. Click here to view the complete range, including remaining lengths and offcuts of rail profiles.
Keder with a Perfect Fit for Awning Applications
This 8.5 mm awning keder is not only highly wear-resistant, but its core is also dimensionally stable. This means that the keder will not expand over time, helping to prevent it from becoming jammed in the awning rail.
PLEASE NOTE: This keder is thicker than the standard 7 mm keder. As a result, the fit in the rail is tighter and may require more effort to slide into place.
What Is Keder Used For?
Keder, also known as awning beading or awning keder, is used to connect a fabric panel, awning, or canopy to the wall of a caravan, motorhome, boat, or terrace awning system. Keder consists of a round core, often referred to as the keder cord, and a flat attachment strip, commonly called the flange or flap. The flange and the fabric are usually joined together by high-frequency welding, although they can also be sewn together. The profile into which the keder slides is known as an awning rail or keder rail. This rail features a specially shaped channel that securely holds the keder while allowing it to slide smoothly along its length. If sliding becomes difficult, applying a silicone spray to the awning rail can help improve movement. Using keder makes it possible to attach and slide a fabric panel or awning along the entire length of the rail.
Compatibility of Caravan Keder
This caravan keder / awning rope is suitable for use with standard caravan awning rails and aluminium rail profiles fitted to camper vans, motorhomes, and similar vehicles.
