Description

Rock pen. 23 cm length. Nail peg made of steel.

If you are camping in Mediterranean countries - and thus have to hammer the guy lines into hard ground - and standard tent pegs warp right away, this extra-hardened rock peg is the solution. Indispensable for harder ground or rocky bottoms. Easy to hammer in as it is basically a large nail peg.

P.S. Also read our advice below if you are unsure about the hold in case of a large awning, canopy or family tent. In that case, we also have wide storm pegs.

P.S. 2. If you are interested in the sustainability aspects of our homemade and matching tent peg bag, please scroll to the bottom paragraph.

Features of this steel rock peg

Nail pegs are specially designed for hard ground. Because these rock pegs have a welded-on transverse pin and a sharp point at the bottom and thus look like a slender, long wire nail, they are called nail pegs or nail pins. These steel rock pegs are very easy (with a good claw hammer from the hardware store) to hammer into the ground, as they find little resistance when hammering and are simply very strong.

A guy rope can easily be attached to the cross peg.

And, just as you hammer these in with a claw hammer, you can also use this tool when pulling out the rock pin.

What to watch out for with these rock pegs?

Because of that welded-on cross-pin, it's wise to cover nail pegs, as otherwise you'll quickly injure yourself if you walk into these....

When it comes to a large tent, caravan awning or canopy, it is obvious that rock pegs with their slender shape in slightly softer ground offer little grip in case of strong winds. In that case, we recommend our strong and wide steel T-pegs, which, as stable storm pegs, hold much more ground. Even if you only use these tent pegs for large corners, you will still have more grip....These steel tent pegs are also purchased for life, because they simply cannot be bent. Click here for our wide range of steel tent pegs.

Are there any further alternatives to nail pegs?

Of course! Besides the wide storm pegs, we also have steel ground pegs and steel twisted market pegs. Click here for our main range of tent pegs and see the overview.

Durability aspect of the matching tent peg bag

If you purchase our (homemade tent peg bag), we would like to mention the following.

At ESVO, we believe it is important to reuse materials so that the demand for new material is reduced. For example, our herring tent bags are developed from residual material from our tent production. This is also the case with this sustainable herring tent bag. When an awning or tent is cut out during production, residual pieces are normally left over that we don't really have any use for. Instead of throwing them away, we give it a second life.

We also use materials from leftover rolls or remnants from suppliers. We want to prevent them ending up in the waste cycle. As a result, all our herring tent bags are of a very high quality. Also, everything is processed in our tent factory in the Netherlands, so it remains a truly Dutch product.

In this practical way – the only way we truly believe how - we try to make our contribution to the environment.
